Gay Days 2013

I'm not going to Gay Days, I have to work every day that it's on. I thought I'd share my thoughts on the ridiculous statement made by One MillIon Moms

June 1 Gay Pride Day at Disney
As soon as school lets out at the end of May, many families will plan to take their family vacation right away. Tens of thousands will make reservations in Orlando, Florida, for the first weekend in June. Warning! Not everyone there will be excited, innocent children anticipating a fun weekend at Disney World.
Um, hi, yeah. You're kids are going to be fucking excited. THEY'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD

The first Saturday in June, homosexuals, bisexuals and transvestites will be at the Magic Kingdom with an agenda and purpose different than what would be expected at Disney.
So the 160,000 LGBT revellers that are attending this years 23rd Annual Gay Days aren't there to enjoy the theme parks for what they are? They're there to just have sex and fuck shit up aren't they, cause as a Disney gay, that's totally what I plan on doing every day. I plan on waking up, having my morning cup of tea, then decide how I can most offend the conservative minds of the 8 year old audience.
Homosexuals will be celebrating the 23rd anniversary of Gay Day wearing matching Gay Day merchandise, such as T-shirts.
OOOOOHHHHHH T-shirts are totally going to make your kid gay!
There will also be transvestites dressed in drag showing their support for the event.
There you go again with another wrong statement. Transvestite is such a negative term used to describe someone who according to wikipeidaare clinical terms that carry potentially negative connotations or implications of mental illness. It's just drag, nothing more nothing less. When your daughter borrows her boyfriends jacket because she's cold, she becomes a transvestite because she's wearing mens clothes.
This event is planned with the intent to expose and desensitize children to this lifestyle by same-sex couples holding hands, hugging and kissing. In short, a Gay Day participant's main goal is to be seen versus seeing Disney World.
In past years when we have contacted Disney representatives about this same issue, their response was simply that they do not sponsor this event.
:O you got something right!? Disney is only home the event, the third party company Gay Days is the organisation responsible for 22 years of gay pride.  For many, Gay Days is treated just like a regular vacation, much like the one you're taking your children on.  The people attending are here to experience Disney just like you are.
On June 1, unsuspecting families will witness a well-orchestrated event that Disney says they have no control over. Disney has taken no action to stop this, which leaves families stunned and offended. So instead of a normal day at this popular theme park, parents will be angry at the harm this causes families.
Disney has been irresponsible for far too long. Disney representatives and security need to maintain a family-friendly atmosphere and require proper conduct and dress code on a daily basis.
Apparently this is what all gay men wear.

Parents who have already made travel plans to be in Orlando during this time should make arrangements to visit a park other than the Magic Kingdom on Saturday, June 1.
Take Action:
Please click on the following link to send your email to Disney's CEO and other Disney officials urging the park to no longer "go along" with Gay Day. Disney should monitor this day and event for public displays of affection and require proper conduct and appropriate attire. This should always be policed, but especially on Gay Day.
ooh sorry again, I'm fairly certain the the Guest Correspondence team don't really care for your stupidity and you'll get the same answer everyone else is, that Disney doesn't run the event.  If you, so badly, want Disney to ban the gays from entering their theme parks and resorts, looks like you won't have anyone to serve you your Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar, or take your order at the new Be Our Guest restaurant. If you don't think that's bad, then also say goodbye to all the parades and to meeting your child's favourite characters, no more Goofy, no more Mickey and certainly no Princes.  I'm not saying that the princes are gay, they're not, they're all happily in love with their respective princesses, I'm saying that majority of their friends are gay.

I really gotta say One Million Moms, you sure are spastic in the head, not a mental disability, you're just retarded.

not the best welcome

Welcome to Disney World! The most Magical place on earth.

Yeah, not really. When we arrived at our apartment, it was a pigsty. There was a pile of dirty dishes in the sink, there was clothes strewn all throughout, the place was a total mess. Good thing I didn't get here first, the two boys who arrived before me went to the main reception area and told them, they were all like "oh it should have already been cleaned, i don't believe you." So a manager came up to the apartment, had a look and got Consuela* and her team to clean it, they did a great job. They spent the best part of two hours cleaning.

We then returned home from shopping to find our locks had been changed, and we had to wait three hours for the key man to come and unlock our door, all the while our frozen food perished. The next morning when we went downstairs to collect our new keys, the staff at the front desk were less than helpful. The woman basically said that the locks were changed because someone left our apartment, she couldn't grasp the fact that we had moved in the day before.

So later that day at our housing meeting where we got our ID's that they stretched the pictures to make us look like how we would at the end of our program, fatter, one of my housemates, Chris, spent forever talking to one of the ladies and we got really worried it was something bad, turns out he was just filing a complaint with her because she's second in charge of the housing company. As two of the people in our apartment are over 21 in a wellness apartment, the housing people printed our ID's saying we were under 21, good thing I noticed, or else we wouldn't be able to drink.

The lady that Chris spoke to, settled everything with the people at the front desk, we even got an apology from the woman there who wouldn't believe us. and we ended up getting a gift card to cover the loss of our frozen foods.

LA

Hello from sunny California.

The past four days have been super busy, I'm really tired now.

Day 1
After spending 15.5 hours on a plane, 5 hours waiting in airports, and an hour getting through customs, I arrived at the terminal entrance for Eer Neuw Zulland. I caught the shuttle bus that would take me to the station so I could catch a train in to get to my hotel. The ticket machines wouldn't accept my card, :/ so I went to "Lindy's Liquor" to get cash out, went back to the station and bought my ticket.

My first night I walked about 7kms to Hollywood and Highland to see Cirque Du Soleil's Iris, it was an amazing show, funny and spectacular. Sadly we weren't allowed to take picture's inside the auditorium, because the Dolby (nee Kodak) Theatre is spectacular. After the sow was over, I decided to go take some photos of the Chinese Theatre all lit up.

Day 2
Today I went on the Paramount Studio Tour. It was really amazing all the TV shows and Movies that have filmed there. Our tour guide, who is also a page, told us about stage 19 and it's association with being the "haunted" stage. If it is, it would make sense seeing as how the Hollywood Forever Cemetery is right over the back wall...

Our tour did manage to catch a glimpse of Scott Bayo (Happy Days), as he walked past our cart in a mullet wig, and a random Cheerio from Glee. We got to see the exterior of the Greendale Community High building which was rather exciting, and turns out they film sections of their show all over the lot. As does Glee. Turns out the studio's dining hall substitutes for BreadSticks and the Studio Store is the Lima Bean Cafe.

I took a trip up to the Disney Soda Fountain and Studio Store to have some lunch, or rather an ice-cream (that came with a limited edition pin). I explored the Ripley's Believe it or Not museum, was really average, and the Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum, which was super impressive.

Day 3
I spent this morning at Universal Studios, it's not really a full day park, especially if you get there just after 7.30 when they've just opened. The first thing I did was ride the new Transformers ride. It was super impressive, and I was wowed. I skipped out on the mummy because after being jolted around for 8 or so minutes, all I wanted to do was sit and see if I could spot any stars on the backlot. Turns out Weeds was filming that day, super shattered. I freaked out in the house of horrors, why would somebody go through that without friends or people they know? Bitches who do, be cray.

I took in the sights of Far Far Away next, and watched the Shrek 4D movie, Lord Farquadd's banners look like the Facebook symbol, I lolled. WaterWorld was a good show, as was the Special Effects Stage. I didn't want to stand in a queue for ages, so anything that was too long I skipped... I'm definitely going to get a shock at Disneyland.

I got home and found a message on my wall from Colleen about dinner, she said that there was a group heading to Hollywood for dinner and that I should join them. I did. It was nice meeting them, and eating something proper for once.

It's actually 49 right now, but eh.

So update: I've gotten my visa. I was so nervous, but calm at the same time, I had fellow cast member Sofia with me...

Flights are booked. Tickets to Cirque Du Soleil's Iris, USH, and DL. Now that everything is falling into place, all I have to do is save up more money. From here on out, it's the agonising wait till I leave on July 25.

39 days till I leave :D

someday my prince will come

So as the song goes,
Some day my prince will come   Some day we'll meet again   And away to his castle we'll go   To be happy forever I know
Recently I've had some fairly amazing guys come into my life.  It's really bugging me why would the universe do this when I'm going overseas.  The most recent one I haven't learnt that much about other than that he's a vet, who's recently graduated and is moving to Queensland, he also likes yoga, in several different forms.  We met a a bar, I was a wee bit intoxicated, so I can't really remember what he was telling Banj, the friend that I was with at the time, he was totally hitting off with this other guy.

I guess if one of these amazing guys and I were to continue seeing each other and a relationship developed, I wouldn't complain.  It's just that, when I leave the country I don't want to be in one, because there'll be heartbreak and sorrow.

200 Days to go!

There is now 200 days till I begin my International College Program, which means we're now in the home stretch. Things that the August group are starting to discuss things like flights, and visas and such.

I freaked out last night, my sister, who's going to europe the month before I leave, we were talking about electrical things we're taking over with us. I went to look at adaptors so that I can plug in my shit, none of them convert energy! But thanks to Contiki, they say that we'll only need an adaptor, but things will take a little longer to charge than usual.

I'm also going to be joining a gym, I have a feeling I'm going to have to be somewhat fit to be friends with a character, especially if I get to be friends with Tigger. Or if I become friends with Goofy, I'll fall over lots, because isn't that what he does, he is very clumsy.

We're supposed to be meeting up today, for like the first time ever, (i'm completely free)

so hopefully the girls want to, I'm' not sure if we've even got any other Melbournians in the group, besides  Sofia, Lezly and myself. Hell we may even go to subber's and get cookies and coffee and shiz...

Do you hear what I hear?

The answer, probably, because I can hear the computer's fan whirring away.

But besides that, tomorrow is Christmas Day when I will finally be able to see what's inside the boxes that are for me and have been poorly wrapped to save on wrapping paper.
It's my Criss in a box!

I like to think that this box will contain Darren Criss and he'll sing me some Crissmas songs, and I will be happy. (see what I did there?)

I've also discovered that the WWOHP aka the Wizarding World of Harry Potter will be getting a large expansion over the next few years to help keep guests coming to Universal Orlando. I think it will be finished before, the joint venture between, James Cameron and Disney's Pandora is opened. Sadly because of this I won't get to experience the Jaws attraction.

USO will also loose a major area for horror night mazes in this expansion, which prompts me to wonder if it will go to being hosted at both parks...

interview time

Sorry I didn't do this last week, but I had my interview with Javier from WDW International Recruiting on Wednesday last week (12/10/11). It went really well. He asked me about scouting, my job at Subway, and just about me in general. Mum said that I said "um" after every time he asked me a question, but who cares anyhow. We then got onto the topic of Role within the World. We spoke about Character Performer, Operations and Merchandising, and what each role entails. Nine short days later I revieved another email from WDWIR offering me a position of Character Performer Cast Member, for the whole year of 4/8/2012 - 2/8/2013. Most people who get only one role are only there for six months, they must love me for my height. Which as I found out 183cm is no where near 6'2". So yeah in about eight months time, I'll be jetting off to America to start this wonderful journey.

Interview stage!

This morning I got an email com the lovely Cameron at WDW international recruiting. He was advising me of when Disney hold their interviews. So I'm thinking of choosing either pikachu or my mew. Haha. Either a morning before work at 5am, or on Wednesday at like 7am, not as much of an un nice hour, but I could potentially smash it out before going to work at Caulfield too...

Imma see what Facebook says, also if you follow me (i.e. Fiona) lemme know what you think.

Saaaaaa excited!!!

my passport arrived yesterday...

and to avoid awkward conversations with my father, I waited until he had gone to the shower to go and scan in into the computer to attach to the rest of my paperwork and then send it off, I think it got there at about 8am Floridian time, which hopefully means that I will receive an email back later this week.

Most likely the email will be asking me why I say I'm from Griffith, yet have my PSSF signed by RMIT. It's mainly because Griffith were douches and failed to return my emails, so I asked OUA yet again and they told me to get RMIT to sign it. LOTS of going round in circles. Hopefully Disney will just accept that I am doing subjects from different universities and let me through to the interview stage, where I hope to get a phone interview, I really ceebs working out how to use skype and all.

In other news I started my new job at Caulfied last Saturday. It was a good shift, besides the fact that I rocked up an hour early and wasn't really required to be there for a while. I was supposed to be cleaning the glasses, but I was promoted to actually working the bar after the other person that was supposed be on was a no show. which meant that we only had three people including myself working. It was so hectic, but I guess that's what it's going to be like. my next shift is setting up for the BMW Caulfied Cup, then I am working the cup as a bar attendant, lots of money here I come.

I am also looking into working the Comedy Festival as a door bitch or something like that. It should be lots of fun, and not much lifting, but by then my back should be better. I'm seeing my osteopath again on Thursday where we will hopefully crack the upper back and the lower will need to be done again.

Until my next exciting WDWIP update..

almost 21

so it's two weeks till my 21st. I'm fairly certain that either that week or the one after I will go out, get royally messed up and possibly have a few hook ups along the way. but le actual party is going to be great. it's got a theme. guess it. give up? it's disney.

I plan on going as Dr. Facillier from Princess and the Frog. I think I will set up a photo op of some description near the door so i can get everyone's costumes and then post them to show to the world how awesome my friends are!

That's pretty much all today. oh I'm still waiting on getting my acceptance letter into Pottermore. but it should come soon. I'd be shattered if it came at the end of September...

Thursday, August 11, 2011

Today has just been...

An exciting day!
Firstly I got an email from Pottermore telling me that I will be getting early access sometime between the middle of August and the end of September!
Then my 2011 Gang Show DVD came in the mail!

And finally I received an email back from WDW International Recruiting about applying even though I'm studying online/via correspondence

Cameron—

In reviewing your University we are still unclear on whether or not it qualifies for the program. I have attached our Proof of Student Status form that all candidates must complete and be reviewed by Disney prior to arrival. Can you get with your school and ask them whether or not this can be completed?

Below are the talking points regarding the form…

o Submit Proof of Student Status Form (Attached). Please note, if the school elects not to sign the bottom of the PSSF document, they must submit a letter that states that you are a current student/recent graduate and that they are an accredited university. Program dates are as follows:
